The Boss

Leo felt like shit. His boss was always above him pressuring him to get the last reports. 4 years was he part of this company and never tried to do something beyond his limits. Leo was a person who was consumed by his job. No family, no friends.

When he gets home he watches tv and eats pizza. His favourite tv shows are about cops and investigation. He loves that. He would have like to be a detective or something like that but he knew that he could never be like one of them.

Back in the office his boss treats him like shit. He sends him to buy his favourite cookies, his diet coffee and even deliver his private mail. With all that Leo should be a person of trust. His right hand at the company maybe, but he isn’t.

One day Leo saw on tv an episode in which a company boss murdered one of his employers. Leo freaked out. He thought for a minute that the victim could be him at any time. He started to think that his boss was very suspicious sometimes. He remembered one time at the restaurant during lunch time; he took a gun out of his suitcase and put it in his pants. He thought it was for safety only. But now he was wandering if he murderer somebody. All of a sudden the images of Laura, Daniel, Camilo y Rodrigo appeared on his mind. All of them left the office in a strange way. Nobody knew what happened to them. He remembered as well the shinny necklace of Laura. It was unforgettable. With a shiny light blue tone and some green pearls, that necklace illuminated him for days when Laura used to say “Hi” to him those mornings.

He decided then to keep an eye on his boss. He would start that same evening after work.

His boss left the office around 8 at night. Leo was waiting for him outside the building. Then he started to following him. His boss stopped at a local store and so did Leo. His boss came out with a bottle of whisky and then to his place. Nothing happened.

The next day when his boss asked for his diet coffee and cookies, Leo did the task quicker than before. He was concentrated in catching him doing something “suspicious”, and because of this, he didn’t realize that he gave his boss the wrong cookies. His boss called him to the office right away. He forced Leo to eat all the cookies in front of him. Leo had to obey. A lot of people at the office saw this embarrassing scene. Leo was ashamed.

That night his boss called him to stop by his house and get his mail sent for him, and also to take the trash out. “That’s it!” Thought Leo and he went to the house of his boss decided to quit the job.

Inside the house, his boss invited him a glass of whiskey. He tried to poison him with some drug but luckily Leo didn’t drink alcohol at all. His boss lost patience with him and tried to stab him with a dagger. Leo evaded the dagger as they felt over the carpet. They started to fight and they got to the bedroom, where Leo was able to knock him out with a bronze statue.

Tied to a chair, his boss asked for mercy but Leo gave him a bunch of cookies that filled his mouth. He asked himself if he was doing the right thing and it all come clearer when he saw a shiny light blue necklace with green pearls.
